VA audiology services provide enrolled veterans with comprehensive hearing support, from diagnostic evaluations to hearing aids and ongoing accessory supplies. Veterans with hearing loss or tinnitus represent a significant portion of those seeking VA disability benefits.
Pro Tip: Tinnitus is the #1 claimed VA disability. If you were anywhere near loud noises (so... the military), you probably qualify. Hearing aids are free for service-connected hearing loss. What? FREE.
Who Qualifies
Veterans enrolled in the VA Healthcare system can access hearing services. No additional enrollment steps required beyond existing VA healthcare membership.

Understanding Costs
No Copay Required For: - Veterans receiving any disability compensation - Those with service-connected hearing conditions - Veterans rated 10% or higher (combined) - Purple Heart recipients - Former Prisoners of War - Veterans whose hearing loss interferes with their ability to participate in treatment - Those who are permanently housebound or require aid and attendance - Veterans with significant cognitive or functional impairments
For Everyone Else: A modest copay may apply, calculated based on your financial situation.
Getting Started
Reach out to your VA primary care team or contact your local VA medical center. They can arrange an audiology appointment or, when circumstances warrant, refer you to a community provider.
Resupply Options for Batteries & Accessories
Method 1 - Web Portal: Log into VA.gov and use the hearing aid supplies order form. Requires a prior order within the past two years to qualify.
Method 2 - Telephone: Reach the VA Denver Logistics Center at 303-273-6200. Available Monday through Friday, 6:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Mountain Time.
Method 3 - Mail Order: Fill out VA Form 2346a and send to: VA Denver Logistics Center PO Box 25166 Denver, CO 80225-0166

When hearing aids malfunction or need repair, contact the VA Audiology clinic that issued them or your assigned community care provider.
