Prepare Examples

Specific examples of how conditions affect daily activities

Bring Documentation

Any medical records, statements, or evidence the VA might not have

During the Exam

Make your case clearly

Be Honest About Symptoms

Describe your actual limitations, don't minimize or exaggerate

Describe Your Worst Days

Explain how symptoms affect you at their worst, not just today

Mention All Symptoms

Don't leave out symptoms because they seem minor

Ask for Clarification

If you don't understand a question, ask the examiner to explain

After the Exam

Follow up appropriately

Request a Copy of the Report

Review what the examiner documented

Note Any Discrepancies

Document anything that seems incorrect or missing

Consider Rebuttal if Needed

You can submit additional evidence if the exam was inadequate
